Steve Killick,
Associate Consultant
Steve is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist who works in the NHS with young people with severe mental health problems. He has worked in both adult and child mental health and education settings and also works as a consultant and trainer for organisations and individuals. He is particularly interested in working with challenging behaviours and emotional literacy. He has recently worked with Headlands School in Wales to produce H.E.L.P! an emotional literacy programme for organisational change and curriculum development.
Steve is also a consultant trainer for the Association of Psychological Therapies and has taught all over the country on cognitive behavioural therapy, solution focused therapy and positive approaches in managing challenging behaviour. From 2001 to 2004 he was a BILD accredited trainer in Positive Behaviour Management. As well as published papers, he has also produced a number of videos on health and education issues including 'Giving Sorrow Words - managing bereavement in Schools' and ‘Start Talking - Language development in the first two years’. Before training as a Clinical Psychologist, Steve was a performer and drama worker and continues to use these skills in groupwork as a way of developing emotional literacy. He is a storyteller and runs courses on the educational and therapeutic components of storytelling.
