Insight Mentoring Training

This new course has been developed for senior teachers and others within educational management who are needing to develop specialist mentoring skills to aid the development of their peers or juniors, or for their own professional development.

Insight Mentoring has been developed by Procounsel as a means of focusing the mentoring relationship by utilising key psychological skills.

On this day workshop participants will:

Be introduced to the key theoretical elements and skills essential for effective mentoring within an educational contextIdentify the personal, professional and organisational benefits of mentoringExplore key issues in mentoring for teacher developmentExplore the role of effective evaluation of Insight Mentoring in school or college settings

By the end of this training participants will have:

Identified the role of mentoring in life from a personal and historical perspective.Examined the differences between mentoring and coaching and understand the variety of roles, tasks and processes that mentoring encompasses. for teachers as leaders within the school organisation.Considered the organisational benefits of mentoring and how to incorporat mentoring within school.Experienced key interpersonal skills required for the mentoring relationship (based on the foundations of person-centred and positive psychology).Established and practised a Peer Mentoring Contract.Identified ways to evaluate a mentoring programme.

This new course can be delivered in two half-day sessions or as a complete day, and feeds into a three day course in Insight Mentoring.

"An Introduction to Insight Mentoring" is also available as a bespoke course for managers at all levels, lawyers, social workers, probation officers, doctors, nurses and nurse managers, police and emergency service staff, learning mentors, and all allied professions.
